How to Request Account Deletion

Roots (developed by Daniel Nemeye) provides multiple ways to request account deletion:

1. Online Form (Recommended): Fill out the form above on this page
2. In-App: Open the Roots app → Profile → Settings → Privacy & GDPR → Delete Account
3. Email: Send a request to privacy@rootsapp.no with your account email address

What Data Gets Deleted?

When you request account deletion from Roots, the following data will be permanently deleted:

• Profile Information: Your name, email address, profile photo, city, and other profile data
• Events: All events you created as an organizer
• Saved Events: Your list of saved/favorited events
• Messages: All your conversations and messages with other users
• Attendance Records: Your participation history in events
• Preferences: Your app settings, language preferences, and notification settings
• User-Generated Content: Any content you posted, comments, or contributions

What Data May Be Retained?

The following data may be retained for legal, regulatory, or business purposes:

• Transaction Records: Payment and purchase history (required for financial records)
• Legal Compliance: Data required by law or for dispute resolution
• Aggregated Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (no personal identifiers)

Retention Period: Legal and financial records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by Norwegian law. All other data is deleted within 30 days of your request.

Processing Time

Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days as required by GDPR. You will receive a confirmation email at the address associated with your account once the deletion is complete.
